PDFlib Personalization Server在突破PDF文档静态成果的基础上进一步强化了PDF的概念。为了能更容易、更快速的打印可变数据，PDFlib引入了一个概念------"块是PDF的一个新特性"。根据引入的"PDFlib Blocks"概念，PDFlib为PDF文档个人服务所引起的有负面作用问题提供了一个解决方案。

PDFlib Personalization Server建立在两部分概念的基础上。
 

• PDFlib Block Plugin for Acrobat"是一个交互式的工具它可以使开发者在已存在PDF数据的顶布根据给定属性来定义区域。在一个随后的服务器处理过程中PDFlib块充当着一个精确定义好的容器来填充文本、图像或者PDF数据。
• PDFlib Personalization Server中的块处理特性能够使编程人员把包含在导入的PDF页中PDFlib块信息和动态信息(比如说，数据库域)联结起来。编程人员并不需要知道块的任何详细信息，因此这些详细信息是完全独立于设计变化的。PDFlib将在文件中存在的块属性基础上充分考虑这些与块相关的信息。
